Status note
The 50th-anniversary IMAX 70mm re-release was confirmed by Lucasfilm and IMAX in September 2026. The original was shot anamorphic at 2.39:1, so how the DMR remaster fills the 1.43:1 GT frame — and whether any sequences are expanded — has not yet been published. Anniversary date is 25 May 2027; exact engagement dates TBC. This page will be updated once verified presentation details land.
