Terms of Service.

These terms govern your use of the Batmandir website, mobile app, and member services. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. We've kept the language plain.
About Batmandir
Batmandir Theatre operates a private members' programme combining a luxury private cinema (in development at Boca Chavón, Dominican Republic), villa stays at Casa de Campo, food and concierge services for member stays, and curated film programming. Membership is by invitation or application.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 to create an account. By signing up, you confirm you are an adult, that the information you provide is accurate, and that you will keep your login credentials confidential. Accounts are personal to you and are not transferable.
Member conduct
Membership is a privilege. We expect members to treat staff, fellow members, and the properties with respect. We may suspend or terminate accounts for harassment, abuse, fraud, or misuse of the service. Reservation no-shows and repeat last-minute cancellations may also result in suspension.
Reservations, orders, and payments
- Villa stays are confirmed via a written booking flow inside the app. Pricing, deposits, and cancellation terms for each stay are communicated at the time of booking and form part of these terms by reference.
- Food and concierge orders placed in the app are billed to your stay or, where applicable, your member account. Cancellation up to acceptance is permitted; after acceptance, please contact your concierge.
- Cinema screenings are reserved through the booking flow at /book. Tickets and seats follow the published programming rules.
- Batmandir does not currently process payment cards inside the app. Where billing is required, an invoice or charge to your stay account is generated via our existing accounting workflow.
Account deletion
You can delete your account at any time from Settings. Deletion is permanent and removes your authentication record, profile, push tokens, and personal identifiers from active orders and requests. Some anonymised transactional records may be retained for up to 24 months for accounting purposes, as described in our Privacy Policy.
Service availability
The service is provided "as is." Batmandir aims for continuous availability but does not guarantee uninterrupted operation. We may suspend the service for maintenance, regulatory reasons, or in response to security threats. Mini-Mandir (the cinema room) is in development and not yet operational; references to programming and seating describe the planned launch in Q4 2027.
Intellectual property
All content on the Batmandir website and app — wordmark, design, photography, the Betelgeuse star symbol — is owned by Batmandir or its licensors. Member-generated content (notes, dietary preferences, photos uploaded as a profile picture) remains yours; you grant Batmandir a limited licence to display it as part of operating the service.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Batmandir is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to amounts paid by you in the prior twelve months, or USD 100, whichever is greater. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Dominican Republic. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of La Romana province, except where local consumer-protection law gives you the right to bring claims in your country of residence.
Apple App Store users
If you obtained the Batmandir mobile app through the Apple App Store, the standard end-user licence terms in the Apple App Store also apply, alongside these. Apple is not a party to these terms and is not responsible for the service.
Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes are posted here with a new effective date. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.
